Good Way to Start Off

I would like to start off by saying that I am from Alberton, Prince Edward Island, CA. I have lived here my whole life and it is a beautiful place to live, I live in a town where you know almost everyone and if you don’t know them your parents will. I would like to let everyone know that yes Islanders or Maritimers do have accents all our own, I say Maritimers and not people from Atlantic Canada because Atlantic Canada includes Newfoundland and Labrador, and Newfoundlanders or “Newfies” have their own accent which is different from Maritimers. Maritimers are people from New Brunswick, Nova Scotia or Prince Edward Island, not all of us have a thick accent and not all of use the English Language incorrectly, but some of use do.

Now when talking to someone from the Maritimes don’t take them to seriously, we use a lot of sarcasm and it’s usually all in good fun. We seem to talk very fast and our train of thought changes in about two seconds, if you can get the drift of what we are talking about then good on ya, because half the time we don’t even have a clue about what we are saying is selves. We tend to use word incorrectly and usually these words are used very sarcastically, we sometimes even miss letter in words. Most of us talk with our hand, I don’t think it is weird to talk with your hands, I don’t really know anyone who doesn’t talk with their hands. Our Parents and Grandparents have always said of it’s the French in ya, that’s why you talk with your hands, I don’t know how true that is though.

Northport Range Light (Former), Alberton, Prince Edward Island... this is now the home of my Great Aunt and Uncle. I am blessed to live up the road from such a beautiful place.
